We cherish the awe-inspiring views out our Colorado backdoor. From the bluebird skies among the soaring Rocky Mountains to our brisk morning walks along the evergreens - we take it as our personal responsibility to protect what inspires us most and the candles we create. We are continually working hard to provide you with a high-quality, eco-conscious, 100% soy candle you can feel good about.
A few things we want you to know:
All our vegan candles are made with responsibly-sourced, clean ingredients and recyclable materials, including:
- Cotton, lead-free wicks
- Recyclable glass vessels (link to how to recycle)
- 100% paraben-free, clean-burning American grown Soy Wax
- High-quality phthalate-free fragrance and essential oils that fall within California Proposition 65 standards
We work hard to minimize product & packaging waste through:
- Repurposing remnant wax: We use left over from our regular production to create our Recycled Candle. (Link)
- Eco-friendly & Recyclable Packaging: We believe how our candle is packaged and sent to you is just as important as the candle itself. All our candles are packaged and shipped using eco-friendly supplies from Colorado-based company Eco-Enclose (link & photo)
- Jar Recycling Initiatives: We collaborate with local stockists to offer a jar collection program which trades credit toward candles in exchange for cleaned out old jars. (link to page with info)
- Recycling Education: We provide guidance and tutorials on how candle lovers can recycle their jars with their other glass recyclables. (link to webpage with tutorials)
Old Pine Candle Co was created as a way to give-back and support our passion for our planet:
- Every year, Old Pine donates 10% of profits to causes we believe in, including the Evergreen Sustainability Alliance (link: https://sustainevergreen.org/) - an organization close to our heart that focuses on fostering local, sustainable solutions for food resources, waste streams, and energy use right here in our home of Evergreen, CO.
- In addition to our year-round environmental commitments and advocacy - we support a variety of local grassroots organizations including The Evergreen Chamber of Commerce , Kittredge Civic Association (link), Kittredge Community Garden (link?) and are extremely proud of the ongoing impact of our “Buy a Candle.
