A Hosting Guide for Thanksgiving - Among the Pines - 11.19.25

Hello friends —

It feels like I’ve been sitting on the runway for weeks, engines humming, waiting for holiday takeoff… and then suddenly the plane starts rolling and the flight attendant gives that final “buckle up” reminder. Well, consider me officially buckled.

To keep my sanity, I’ve decided that after school drop-off I must move my body before diving into work, and at night—once the kids are asleep—I’m pouring candles and prepping orders with a holiday movie playing in the background. ’Tis the season for juggling, right? But it’s only a couple of weeks… ha!

Are you ready for takeoff? ✨

TABLE SCAPE IDEAS-

Piney Wines hosted a Thanksgiving Pairing master class, and we wanted it to feel like a warm and beautiful “Friendsgiving” dinner if you will. Creating a beautiful table definitely doesn’t need to feel stressful or cost a lot of money, so here are a few easy things to consider when planning out a table scape-

  • Florals go a long way, and don’t need to be expensive. We bought flowers from Trader Joes and arranged them in small shallow vases (a floral frog will be your best friend in these scenarios). Just create layers of height when arranging, a few tall stems, fill out the middle, then a base of flowers close to the vase.

  • Produce!!! Throwing produce on the table (think plums, figs, pomegranates, or anything seasonal, that sort of thing) is so incredibly easy, effective, and is also up for grabs when you’re snacking post-dinner.

  • Candlesticks or small candle votives are a great way to fill space and add height or dimension to your table! And this isn’t something you need to repurchase every year. The candles in the photo above are kept from years past, just trim your wick and reuse them!

  • Use any excess florals to spread throughout the table as gap fillers so you don’t have anything going to waste!

LOCAL BUSINESSES TO SUPPORT-

A really great way to support not only yourself, but local business as well is to find ways to outsource certain dishes so the entire evening isn’t overwhelmed by ridiculous amounts of food prep

LOCAL EVENTS:

  • Warren Miller’s “Sno-ciety” Film will be showing at Evergreen Lake House on December 7th! You can purchase tickets here

  • As we get closer to the Holiday season, keep in the Kittredge Holiday Bazaar! A holiday pop-up that will run from 11/28-12/28! Be sure to follow along on Instagram for updates!
