Hi Friends-
Lately, my nights look less like checking things off a list and more like chatting with Ryan over a cup of tea. Not the routine I had in mind, but that quiet connection feels more important. My sleep score has been better than ever (maybe it’s all the tea?) — or maybe it’s just slowing down and being more intentional. Either way, my nervous system seems to be saying thank you.
I recently read a substack post about this idea of an Analog Fall — it brings me back to childhood and, more importantly, off my phone. The author mentions watching movies instead of shows, which struck me — movies definitely feel less common these days.
Here are a few movie recommendations for the season:
The Crow, The Lost Boys, and The Goonies — a little nostalgia I can handle.
Speaking of analog, my son recently started carrying around a little notebook to journal, which I think is just the sweetest thing. I might join him. I’d love for that to become our little ritual. I’m even thinking about putting together an “Analog Fall” bag for our outings — a real-life camera, a notebook, pens, and a deck of playing cards.
Here’s to slowing down, writing things by hand, and making space for the small things that make us feel grounded again.
